El logotip existent, basat en el s\u00edmbol i la bandera transg\u00e8nere, era massa detallat, massa gen\u00e8ric i sovint es confonia amb altres organitzacions transg\u00e8nere. GMA estava preparada per invertir en un logotip \u00fanic i fet a mida que realment els represent\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El logotip havia de reflectir que GMA reconeix els M\u0101ori com a pobles primers, que at\u00e9n persones transg\u00e8neres que es troben en situaci\u00f3 de desavantatge estructural addicional i que els serveis de GMA s\u00f3n disponibles, accessibles i d'alta qualitat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Com que GMA t\u00e9 dos p\u00fablics clau, era important que el logotip s'adrec\u00e9s a tots dos: adults transg\u00e8nere i professionals del sector sanitari. El disseny havia d'equilibrar la calidesa i l'acostament dels serveis de suport entre iguals amb un aspecte professional i autoritzat per al sector sanitari. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tot i que s'utilitzaria principalment en l\u00ednia \u2013 per al lloc web de GMA i per als cursos en l\u00ednia, el logotip tamb\u00e9 s'imprimiria en fullets, volants i altres recursos. Volien alguna cosa \u00fanica, senzilla, neta i cl\u00e0ssica, que represent\u00e9s el seu context cultural a Aotearoa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gender Minorities ja tenia una marca s\u00f2lida pel que fa a la paleta de colors \u2013 tons taronja per al seu treball de suport entre iguals i tons blaus per a la seva defensa de l'atenci\u00f3 sanit\u00e0ria, i volien mantenir-los en el futur. Tamb\u00e9 disposaven de fonts existents que volien continuar utilitzant. GMA ja feia servir alguns patrons i il\u00b7lustracions dissenyats per artistes M\u0101ori. Aquests eren massa detallats per formar part del logotip, per\u00f2 van servir com a punt de partida \u00fatil. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En les nostres discussions inicials es van compartir moltes idees diferents de s\u00edmbols, des d'un <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scoop.co.nz\/stories\/HL1305\/S00021\/queer-birds-of-new-zealand.htm\">hist\u00f2ria sobre un korimako 'trans'<\/a>, a la papallona p\u016briri i a la fulla de la planta kawakawa. Per ampliar el meu coneixement existent de les tradicions de disseny M\u0101ori, vaig dur a terme una recerca exhaustiva. En aquest moment tamb\u00e9 vaig contactar amb el client per confirmar que no volien treballar amb un dissenyador M\u0101ori en lloc meu (un neozeland\u00e8s blanc). Van afirmar que volien treballar espec\u00edficament amb mi, i vam decidir treballar de manera molt col\u00b7laborativa en el disseny, amb el lideratge dels membres M\u0101ori de GMA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vam explorar un gran nombre de dissenys conceptuals diferents abans de decidir avan\u00e7ar amb un disseny que combinava imatges M\u0101ori amb el s\u00edmbol transg\u00e8nere dissenyat a la d\u00e8cada de 1990 per Holly Boswell, Wendy Parker i Nancy R. Nangeroni. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vam optar per un disseny de mang\u014dpare (taur\u00f3 capmartell), que representa coratge, for\u00e7a i poder, combinat amb dissenys koiri, que representen l'autocura, l'esplendor i l'autoreflexi\u00f3 \u2014 tot plegat ens va semblar molt adient tant per a la tasca que duu a terme Gender Minorities Aotearoa com per a les persones trans que fan \u00fas dels serveis de GMA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El resultat final inclo\u00efa una versi\u00f3 taronja del logotip per als serveis de suport entre iguals, una versi\u00f3 blava per a l'\u00e0mbit sanitari i una versi\u00f3 de filigrana en blanc i negre.
