L'equip editorial de Left of the Equator Press em va convidar a dissenyar la coberta de la seva nova publicaci\u00f3.  Visas Now! Aotearoa\u2019s response to global refugee emergencies<\/a><\/strong><\/em> de Murdoch Stephens.  

Fent zoom en les admissions puntuals i d'alt risc de sirians, afganesos i ucra\u00efnesos a Aotearoa durant l'\u00faltima d\u00e8cada, el llibre presenta nou hist\u00f2ries de persones que van defensar admissions espec\u00edfiques de refugiats, incloses algunes de les quals les seves crides van quedar sense resposta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Left of the Equator em va encarregar de crear un disseny que apel\u00b7l\u00e9s a les comunitats de refugiats locals, als activistes i defensors, i als responsables pol\u00edtics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Van especificar que utilitz\u00e9s una fotografia de protestes locals que demanaven visats d'emerg\u00e8ncia per als palestins de Gaza amb familiars a Nova Zelanda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despr\u00e9s d'experimentar amb diferents fotografies, tipografies i maquetacions, vam arribar al disseny final, que representa una protesta poderosa al Memorial Nacional de la Guerra (fotografia de Teirangi Klever<\/a><\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Els n\u00favols foscos al\u00b7ludeixen als reptes afrontats, mentre que una tipografia de t\u00edtol atrevida (Tallica) exposa les exig\u00e8ncies de la campanya; l'elegant i discreta Garamond Pro i la Helvetica Neue completen la resta del disseny. Com que la columna del llibre era relativament estreta, vaig optar per incloure el logotip de l'editorial a la part posterior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
