El logotipo existente, basado en el s\u00edmbolo y la bandera transg\u00e9nero, era demasiado detallado y gen\u00e9rico, y a menudo se confund\u00eda con el de otras organizaciones transg\u00e9nero. GMA estaba dispuesta a invertir en un logotipo \u00fanico y hecho a medida que realmente los representara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El logotipo deb\u00eda reflejar que GMA reconoce a los M\u0101ori como pueblos originarios, que atiende a personas transg\u00e9nero que se enfrentan a desventajas estructurales adicionales y que los servicios de GMA est\u00e1n disponibles, son accesibles y de alta calidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dado que GMA tiene dos p\u00fablicos clave, era importante que el logotipo se dirigiera a ambos: los adultos transg\u00e9nero y los trabajadores del sector de la salud. El dise\u00f1o deb\u00eda lograr un equilibrio entre la amabilidad y la cercan\u00eda, necesarias para los servicios de apoyo entre pares, y un aspecto profesional y de autoridad, adecuado para el sector de la salud. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aunque se utilizar\u00eda principalmente en l\u00ednea \u2014en el sitio web de GMA y en los cursos de capacitaci\u00f3n en l\u00ednea\u2014, el logotipo tambi\u00e9n se imprimir\u00eda en folletos, volantes y otros materiales. Buscaban algo \u00fanico, sencillo, limpio y cl\u00e1sico, que representara su contexto cultural en Aoteroa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gender Minorities ya contaba con una identidad visual bien definida en cuanto a la paleta de colores \u2014los tonos naranjas para su labor de apoyo entre pares y los azules para su defensa de la atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica\u2014 y deseaba mantenerla en el futuro. Adem\u00e1s, ya dispon\u00eda de tipograf\u00edas que quer\u00eda seguir utilizando. GMA ya utilizaba algunos motivos e ilustraciones dise\u00f1ados por artistas M\u0101ori. Estos eran demasiado detallados para formar parte del logotipo, pero sirvieron como un punto de partida \u00fatil. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En nuestras conversaciones iniciales se compartieron muchas ideas diferentes sobre los s\u00edmbolos, desde un <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scoop.co.nz\/stories\/HL1305\/S00021\/queer-birds-of-new-zealand.htm\">hstoria sobre un korimako \u00abtrans\u00bb<\/a>, la polilla p\u016briri y la hoja de la planta kawakawa. Para ampliar mis conocimientos sobre las tradiciones de dise\u00f1o M\u0101ori, llev\u00e9 a cabo una investigaci\u00f3n exhaustiva. En ese momento tambi\u00e9n consult\u00e9 con el cliente para confirmar que no prefer\u00edan trabajar con un dise\u00f1ador M\u0101ori en lugar de conmigo (un neozeland\u00e9s blanco). Me confirmaron que espec\u00edficamente quer\u00edan trabajar conmigo, y decidimos trabajar de manera muy colaborativa en el dise\u00f1o, bajo el liderazgo de los miembros M\u0101ori de GMA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Analizamos una gran cantidad de bocetos conceptuales diferentes antes de decidir seguir adelante con un dise\u00f1o que combinaba im\u00e1genes M\u0101ori con el s\u00edmbolo transg\u00e9nero creado en la d\u00e9cada de 1990 por Holly Boswell, Wendy Parker y Nancy R. Nangeroni. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nos decidimos por un dise\u00f1o de mang\u014dpare (tibur\u00f3n martillo), que representa el valor, la fuerza y el poder, combinado con motivos de koiri, que simbolizan el cuidado personal, el florecimiento y la autorreflexi\u00f3n; todo ello nos pareci\u00f3 muy apropiado tanto para la labor que realiza Gender Minorities Aotearoa como para las personas trans que utilizan los servicios de GMA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El resultado final incluy\u00f3 una versi\u00f3n en naranja del logotipo para los servicios de apoyo entre pares, una versi\u00f3n en azul para el \u00e1mbito de la salud y una versi\u00f3n en blanco y negro con marca de agua.
