Identidad de marca para Left of the Equator Press<\/h1>\n\n\n

Left of the Equator<\/strong><\/a> publica libros de Aotearoa para un mundo m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del capitalismo y el colonialismo. Entre sus t\u00edtulos se encuentran Kia Mau: Resistiendo las ficciones coloniales<\/em> por Tina Ngata, El d\u00eda de las redadas: Relatos de supervivencia y resistencia ante las redadas de terror estatal<\/em> editado por Valerie Morse, y Jud\u00edo, No Sionista<\/em> por Marilyn Garson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abLeft of the Equator\u00bb era un nuevo proyecto editorial y necesitaba un logotipo, principalmente para aparecer en los libros, en el sitio web y en las redes sociales. \u2028\u2028Los responsables de \u00abLeft of the Equator\u00bb compartieron conmigo sus ideas sobre los elementos simb\u00f3licos que quer\u00edan incluir en la identidad de marca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un concepto clave fue el de \u00abla vida que persiste en las grietas\u00bb, simbolizada por las plantas aut\u00f3ctonas, que son supervivientes resistentes o act\u00faan como vivero. Otro concepto fue la idea del internacionalismo y la solidaridad, los hilos comunes de la justicia y la sostenibilidad que nos unen a todos en el planeta Tierra. En general, el objetivo era transmitir resiliencia, esperanza y renacimiento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quer\u00edan un logotipo cl\u00e1sico y duradero, que evitara los clich\u00e9s anarquistas del punk rock, algo m\u00e1s tradicional y sencillo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

el proceso<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hice varios bocetos combinando el globo terr\u00e1queo con distintas plantas locales, con el fin de crear algo que se asemejara a una bola de tierra de la que brotara una pl\u00e1ntula, o bien a una imagen caricaturesca de una bomba redonda con una planta a modo de \u00abmecha\u00bb. Mi idea era hacer una referencia sutil a la \u00abchispa\u00bb de las ideas revolucionarias que contienen los libros, y a la idea de que los libros son las semillas de un mundo nuevo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mis clientes decidieron seguir adelante con la opci\u00f3n de la planta de m\u0101nuka, combinada con una tipograf\u00eda sans serif cl\u00e1sica. Segu\u00ed desarrollando el dise\u00f1o, eligiendo la tipograf\u00eda Inter Bold y perfeccionando los detalles y la forma general del logotipo. Se exager\u00f3 el tama\u00f1o de las caracter\u00edsticas flores para que la planta fuera m\u00e1s reconocible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

M\u0101nuka es una planta muy extendida y ampliamente reconocida en Aotearoa, conocida por sus numerosas propiedades curativas y medicinales. El m\u0101nuka crea entornos en los que otras especies nativas pueden establecerse con mayor \u00e9xito. Por ello, se utiliza a menudo en proyectos de restauraci\u00f3n de bosques nativos en Aotearoa, Nueva Zelanda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
