THE PROJECT
Gazzawi Cuisine is the project of a proud Palestinian family who recently arrived in Barcelona after fleeing Israel‘s genocide in Gaza. Having endured significant human and material losses, they decided to launch a project centred around cooking and sharing meals, to help support the family both in Barcelona and back home in Gaza.
For the team at Gazzawi Cuisine, cooking transcends mere sustenance: it is a profound expression of love in Palestinian culture and an act of resistance against cultural appropriation and colonialism.
THE BRIEF
Gazzawi Cuisine had commissioned a logo and visual identity from another designer in the past that they were generally happy with, but there were a few things that needed fixing: the logo needed to be adapted to fit in a circular shape (social media profile picture, round stickers) and the project name needed to be corrected.

They also tasked me with the creation of promotional stickers and menus in English, Spanish and Catalan.
THE PROCESS
I didn't want to mess too much with the existing logo, so I just adjusted it slightly to fulfil the client's wishes. I rearranged and re-sized the elements, correcting the name and balancing the design. For the menus and stickers I worked to create a sense of brand coherence, matching the style and palette of the logo, without over-using the logo font. Please note that contact information and personal details have been blurred in the images here, to protect the privacy of the family.
